Golf Hideway is not really a driving range in the true meaning of the term but it could be considered one as you can hit balls there. Golf Hideaway is not surpisingly tucked almost hidden away in Quarry Bay. If you’re okay to practice golf indoors on a golf simulator then Golf Hideaway is a good choice. They use Full Swing Golf Simulators which are reasonably accurate most of the time, and unless you’re a single digit handicap who has the ability to hit your irons pin high more often than not, then you won’t notice much of a difference between the numbers you can get fedback on the simulator, and what you hit on the course or outside.
Golf Hideaway is well setup, there are 2 simulators, some nice couches for your to kick back on have a beer if you want, and there’s also a pool table in their lounge area. The staff are very pleasant, and overall a nice time can be had if it’s raining and you have to stay indoors. You can play over 65 different golf courses on the simulators and of course there’s a driving range mode on the sims, the only negative is that the chipping and putting can be a bit tricky, especially if you’ve never played on a simulator before. Thank god the system can be set for 10 foot gimmies! Sounds a lot but when you play you’ll be thankful.
If you live in Hong Kong Quarry Bay can be considered quite far, but from Central with no traffic it’s less than 10 minutes. Not the easiest to find the first time, but once you know the way it’s a piece of cake and there’s parking about 2 minutes away so Golf Hideaway is actually quite convenient. Golf Hideaway is definitely worth a visit and is one of the best driving ranges in Hong Kong despite being indoors.
