World Record For Hong Kong Golfer

Fitness coach and keen golfer Brian Cha swung his way into the Guinness Book of Records yesterday.
Starting at midnight and continuing for 12 gruelling hours, Cha hit 9,959 golf balls on Whitehead Club Golf Driving Range at Ma On Shan to beat the previous record of 7,917, set in 2010.

To qualify, Cha had to hit each ball more than 100 yards within a 30-degree arc. An adjudicator from the Guinness World Record headquarters verified the achievement. With the wear and tear on his hands it’s debatable whether Cha will be heading out for another round of golf anytime soon, but it was all in a good cause as the event was staged to raise money for charity – the Redford Charitable Foundation and Hong Kong Rehabilitation Power, to benefit the disabled in need and less privileged families.

The stunt also put Hong Kong golf on the map. if you’d like to learn how to play golf in Hong Kong, please visit www.golflesssonshongkong.com.
